One company back-up, two computers

Excuse any terminology errors - I am a payroll clerk, not a techie, (but I love techies). Here is my problem: I have QB desktop premier with enhanced payroll. I use my PC almost all of the time to generate company payroll. I will be out of town in June, and will take my seldom used laptop with me, to do Payroll while I am out of town.

I back up the company using Intuit Data Protect Backup, from my PC. As a test for being out of town in June, I opened my laptop and tried to "restore" my company file from the on-line backup. Nope. Laptop does not see the backup.

How can I "tell" Intuit Data Protect to link the two devices to the same Company back-up? I can handle any kind of restore, export etc. Whatever is needed.

Thank you.

@Sandiinhr

IDP is not reliable. You should take a normal way to backup and restore.

You can create the backup file (*.qbb) locally and upload it to your cloud drive (e.g GDrive).

Download the backup file on another computer and restore it locally.
