Quickbooks 2021 Desktop not working without payment info

I have Quickbooks 2021 Desktop and now I'm unable to log in without providing subscription payment information. I purchased this prior to Sept 2021 and it was my understanding it would be grandfathered in before their subscription change, and wouldn't need to subscribe.

I can help you with resolving the error you've received to log in to your company file, @npreble.

Can you tell me more about the error message that you've received? That'll help me identify the issue you're having.

You can run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic tool from the Tool Hub to fix common errors.

Here's how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Use or download the most recent version (1.5.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. In the QuickBooks Tools Hub, click on Installation Issues.
  4. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool and click on OK when the Diagnostic Tool completes.
  5. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If you're still encountering an error, follow the next solution outlined in the following article: Fix Error: Verify your subscription before installing QuickBooks Desktop

Here's also additional troubleshooting steps if you're unable to open your company file: Error -6000, -82 or -6000, -106 when opening or accessing the company file.

You can always get back to me if you have questions about the error you're having to open your company file by leaving a comment below. I'm always here to assist. Have a great rest of the day.
