Quickbooks Desktop Login Issues

I can't login into my quickbooks desktop with my intuit account to use merchant services. Both quickbooks and internet explorer are on the newest version. I use quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019. I can login fine with firefox, but unfortunately, that's not what qb uses.  I've tried adding intuit to the trusted websites on internet explorer, clearing the cache, but none of that works. Thanks!

Quickbooks Desktop Login Issues

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, Daniel.

Let me assist you in accessing your QuickBooks Payments account.

You can continue using Mozilla Firefox since QuickBooks Payments is an online-based. You can log in to it anytime, anywhere using a browser.

Additionally, there may be some problem with your network or system that's why you can't access it within QuickBooks Desktop. Please follow and perform the steps shared in this article to fix it: Problem accessing Payments features from within QuickBooks.

I've added this link about the QuickBooks Payments FAQs.

Quickbooks Desktop Login Issues

Hi Alex,

I tried updating all those settings, including firewall and internet explorer, but it still won't let me login. Cleared cache, added it to trusted websites, etc. I need quickbooks payments to be connected to my desktop 2019, so I can send invoices with it.

When I enter my credentials, and hit login, it doesn't do anything. After hitting it a few times, it says "Oops, something went wrong.". It used to work fine. I really need this for my business, and I can't seem to make progress on this issue. I tried reinstalling quickbooks as well. That didn't make any difference.

Thank you.

Quickbooks Desktop Login Issues

I do appreciate the steps you performed to get the issue be fixed, DanHancock.

When you're having trouble accessing Payments features from within QuickBooks, but similar access works fine outside of QuickBooks, then the problem is due to other factors in your network and/or system.

You can run the Verify and Rebuild Data utility to determine if there is a data issue and how to resolve it. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your company file.
  2. Click the File menu and choose Utilities.
  3. Select Verify Data. When you see these prompts that QuickBooks detected no problems with your data, no further action is needed. If you see Your data has lost integrity, this indicates there is data damage in the file.  Continue to the steps below to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.

To rebuild the data

  1. Click the File > Utilities > Rebuild Data.
  2. You will receive a warning message to backup your company file, press OK. A backup of your company file will ensure you have a secured copy of your company file before any changes are made to it.
  3. Select where you want to save your backup, then select OK at the bottom of the QuickBooks Desktop Backup window.
    • If a message asks if you want to replace another backup file, select NO. Enter a new name in the File name field and click Save.
    • The Rebuild Data utility starts as soon as the backup is finished.
  4. Click OK when you get the message "Rebuild has completed".

If the same thing happens, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Payments Support Team. They have the resources to do advanced troubleshooting steps that will help you in logging into your Merchant Services account.
