How do I UNLINK my intuit account from obsolete company files? (I no longer have access to these quickbooks files, so I can't log into the file and sign out using "Help: Reset Intuit ID Settings)
Hello, 30Yearsuserandcantfindananswer.
I'll provide you with some information so you can utilize your Intuit account to manage your company file.
Access to functions like producing an invoice or paying a bill is made possible by using a QuickBooks company file login. However, an Intuit account offers access to all related Intuit services like QuickBooks Payments, payroll, Tsheets time tracking, Receipts Management, and more.
If you want the company file removed from the open company list screen. Please follow the following steps below:
In addition, you can sign in to your intuit account from a web browser. From there, you can manage and make changes to all company files linked to your account.
For future reference, I've also added this article to help you recover your company file: Reset your password for QuickBooks Desktop.
Feel free to leave a comment if you have any additional questions. I'm always willing to assist.
The first suggestion only removes the files that I am currently using from easy access. It doesn't affect if I am still signed into the files with my QBs ID.
The second suggestion is so much closer. In this screen I can see the same files that are showing up in my Quickbooks Desktop Mobile App, showing 14 files to choose from. However, I don't see an option to sign out of them. I need to remove all the files associated with my ID. Then sign into the ones that are current.
Thank you for your time.
