Quickbooks keeps nagging me to renew my credit card

The credit card I have on file for my Quickbooks Desktop annual subscription renewal expired last month.  A few weeks before that expiration, Quickbooks started popping up a notification at startup reminding me to update the expiration date.  Once I got my new card, I logged into my Quickbooks Account and did that.  The popup still keeps coming up.  I have even clicked the "I've already done that" button and it still keeps popping up every time I start Quickbooks.

What do I need to do to get this to go away?

Quickbooks keeps nagging me to renew my credit card

I appreciate you for raising your concern with us, @RodBurns. I'll be sharing some troubleshooting steps so you will no longer receive pop-up notifications about updating your credit card in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I understand the frustration when a pop-up reminder appears repeatedly, even after accomplishing the required task. To eliminate it, please refer to these steps:

  1. Go to Edit and select Preferences.
  2. Click the General tab.
  3. Check the box next to Turn off pop-up messages for products and services, then select OK.

If the issue persists, I recommend utilizing the QuickBooks Tool Hub to resolve common issues. Before doing so, ensure to update the program to its latest release.

Furthermore, you can manage your QBDT account and services with the Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs). From there, you may review charges, update your payment method, change a credit card, as well as edit billing information and email addresses.

Please don't hesitate to swing by the Community whenever you have any follow-up questions about removing the pop-up messages. We're only a few clicks away to assist you further. Take care and be well.

That setting is already checked

Thank you for checking that, RodBurns.

Since the setting is already checked for the preferences in your QuickBooks Desktop account and the issue is persisting, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QBDT Support Team. Agents have specialized tools, like the ability to share your screen, to take a closer look to determine why the notifications are still appearing. Here's how to get in touch with the team:

1. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us.
2. Choose Contact Us.
3. Give a brief description of your issue, then select Continue.
4. Sign in to your Intuit account and click Continue and then Continue with my account.
5. We'll email you a single use code. Enter your code and select Continue. (If you have more than one account, select the account you want to use and then Continue.)
6. Select to chat with us or have us call you.

The following article provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Contact QuickBooks Desktop Support

Please don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.

Quickbooks keeps nagging me to renew my credit card

OK, I contacted online support. They verified that my credit card has been updated, but the message is still showing every time I open Quickbooks - they just said to ignore the message, or turn off the reminders box.

That's not really a solution...

This is the box I'm trying to get rid of - it pops up when I start Quickbooks and turning off reminders doesn't prevent it

Quickbooks keeps nagging me to renew my credit card

Thanks for getting back to the thread, Rod! We appreciate your prompt response and providing additional details and a screenshot of the error message you encountered when starting QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

We understand the importance of using the program smoothly and without any difficulties. We would be glad to assist you with this matter.

To begin, let's check your subscription status in the Customer Account Management Portal (CAMPs). CAMPs allows you to manage your accounts, products, contacts, billing, and user ID access. You can refer to this article: Change, manage, or update your Intuit account with CAMPs.

Please verify if you have an active subscription to CAMPs. If you do, let's proceed with updating your QBDT. This will ensure that your system is up-to-date and equipped with the latest features and product improvements. Let's first check if you have the latest release:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Press F2 (or Ctrl+1) to open the Product Information window.
  3. Check your current version and release.

QuickBooks will automatically download updates when they become available. Once the update is downloaded, you'll see "Update available" on the status bar in the top right corner. Alternatively, you can manually install the update by following these steps:

  1. Select Update available and then choose Install Now to install the update.
  2. Once the update is installed, open QuickBooks.

For more detailed instructions and information, check out this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

If you have completed the steps and the issue persists, we recommend contacting our Live Support Team again. They are equipped to investigate this issue further and identify the root cause of the problem.

Additionally, if you encounter any errors while using, installing, or updating QuickBooks, you can also run the repair tool for QuickBooks Desktop for Windows. This tool can help resolve common issues and errors the program is experiencing. You can find instructions on how to use the repair tool in this article: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.

You can refer to this article on using the verify and rebuild tools in QuickBooks Desktop. These tools can help identify and resolve common data issues in your company file moving forward: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Feel free to drop by again if you have further questions or need assistance with other QuickBooks challenges. The Community is always available to help you. We're rooting for your business endeavors. Take care!

Quickbooks keeps nagging me to renew my credit card

I had previously (last week) checked for updates and there weren't any.  Just now I checked again and QB downloaded a critical update.  After restarting, the popup did not come up and I clicked "I've already done this" on the reminder - restarted again and now the reminder is gone as well.

So, maybe something in the critical fix took care of the problem?

*fingers crossed*

Nope, problem is back again - popup as shown above when starting QB and still on the reminders list

I'm also getting the "You haven't logged in to your intuit account in 89 days" message, even though I log in to my Intuit account when it tells me that... It's always "89 days" and it's popping up around once per week.

Plus the pop up message saying my payroll subscription has expired, when I cancelled it 4 years ago...

QB is quickly becoming more annoying than it's worth

@RodBurns

I suggest you to cancel your license and buy a new one. Don't wait until you subscribe to something without your consent. Another option, purchase a new license through a selected partner and pay with ACH.

I'll guide you on how you can fix the error, Rod.

It's possible you're using a different Windows user account. That's why you're getting the You haven't logged in to your intuit account error. Normally, if you're  using the same Windows user account, you don't have to sign in to QuickBooks with your user name and password every time and you'll not be getting this error.

You can sign in as the Admin user so you can change how long users can stay signed in. The default is usually 90 days or 2 days. You'll want to turn on this feature. This will close the Company file when you go to File, then Close Company and won't sign off the user.

To turn off, follow the steps provided below:

  1. Go to Edit and then select Preferences.
  2. Choose General and then Company Preferences.
  3. In Mange login settings, click Keep user logged in for:
  4. Press 1, 2, 7, 30, 60 or 90 days and then Hit OK.

To know more on how you can use a screen timeout to make sure everything is secure, check out this article for more information: Stay Signed In To QuickBooks Desktop.

Furthermore, learn how you can access your account if you lost or forgot your credentials. I've got this resource for reference: Recover Your Intuit Account If You Can't Sign In.

Please let me know if you have any questions when logging into your account or if you have any issues when signing in QuickBooks. I'm always right here to help you anytime.
