I have QuickBooks Online Advanced and am trying the full service payroll function for 30 days. Although I think it would be phenomenal to move my company's payroll to this solution, there doesn't appear to be a way to setup other users to only access the payroll functions (Workers menu and Reports menu with payroll reports only). Unfortunately, I don't want my employees that run payroll to view all bank accounts, sales, expenses, etc. that are associated with the business. If you have a similar concern or have a possible solution, I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your prompt response. I requested this feature more than 2 years ago. When I called the QuickBooks team about it being available, they told me I could upgrade to the Advanced version and create custom user roles. I have now paid to upgrade to QuickBooks Advanced, loaded my employee files for a trial, and am now finding out I can't use the service because I am unable to grant access to anyone on my team to run payroll without being exposed to all of the other very sensitive information. Unfortunately, I have wasted a little over a week on this failed project. Please let me know when this enhancement is estimated to be in production. Until then, I will have to cancel my Advanced upgrade and cancel any payroll service from Intuit. I look forward to hearing back from you very soon.
We're unable to provide a timeline or provide information when a feature request will be added in QuickBooks Online, dkirkjohnson.
Customer suggestions and feedback from all channels are collected and reviewed by our product engineers. Adding a feature and enhancements are also prioritized based on the number of request it gets. The more request they receive about a specific feature it gets, the more chances it will will be added.
