How could the audit trail show the wrong user?

The audit trail or audit log displays the actions performed by users with their email addresses,@phylwith. I can provide further details to address your query.

The audit log documents the actions carried out by users and links them to their respective email addresses. This process ensures that all modifications will show the user. To review the users, you can go to the Manage Users section and view the user. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. After that, hit Manage users.
  3. Once done, go to Emails.

Once finished, compare it with the audit log to check for additional users not listed in the Manage users.

You can also collaborate with your users by clicking on the Profile icon and selecting Manage your Intuit account to verify the associated emails are correct. If any edits are needed, feel free to update them under Sign-in & Security.

If there's a wrong user shown, I recommend contacting our support team to investigate this issue further. They have the necessary expertise and tools to assist you. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the upper right corner of your screen, click on Help (?).
  3. Select or type Contact Us.
  4. Start entering your concern, then select Let's Talk.
  5. Please choose a way to connect with us:
  • Assistant tab and select Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

On the other hand, you can manage your users effectively by providing them with specific access permissions. You can find assistance by checking out the following link: User roles and access rights in QuickBooks Online.

Handling users might be your concern again for the next time, @phylwith. Feel free to make this thread active for us to help you more. Keep safe.
