Hi @director21,

Let's get your exports from reports to work without any issues.

Whenever a web-based application acts unexpectedly, I suggest you open your browser's private window. It isolates the cache, which is the common cause of unusual behaviors in browsers.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If that works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. Otherwise, open an alternative browser that's available for you.

In case you encounter any other software-related issues, refer to this article: Troubleshooting browser problems. It has a list of troubleshooting steps that are specific to each compatible browser with QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Tag me in the comments below if you have further questions about the export process in QBO. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Hello again, @bbstone56!

I wanted to update you with some information regarding the report being all zeros.

We were able to look into this issue and we were able to reproduce the same issue.

So thank you, again for letting me know about this issue!

The resolutions that we have come up with;

  1. Use a 64-bit version of excel
  2. Copy the broken report to a new workbook in excel
  3. You can also create a new Google Chrome User
  4. The last option would be to use an alternate browser to the one you are currently using

Please try any of those options and let me know which one worked best for you.

If you need anything else let me know so I can help!

I get all zeroes when I export reports ?? Just started happening yestereday.

You need to click 'Enable Editing' when you open the file in Excel 365.

I saw zeros when I 'previewed' the file. I also saw zeros when I opened the file in 'protected mode' in excel.

Once I clicked on the 'Enable Editing' box in the yellow 'Protected View' Bar at the top...all the numbers showed up.

Hi there, Captain777.

Have you tried the solutions shared by my colleague, sberti? I'd suggest giving it a try. However, if none of those workarounds work on your end, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team.

One of our agents can pull up your account and verify what causes the zeroes on the report. Here's how:

  1. Click the ? Help icon.
  2. Enter Talk to a human.
  3. Select Contact a human.
  4. Click Live Chat / Call me back.

Also, if you want to customize the data on the report, you can check this reference: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if there's anything that I can help. Keep safe!

I experienced the same issue and searched for this error. While trying to follow one of the troubleshoot step, after I opened the Excel with all Zero data, I clicked 'Enable Editing' and the amounts appeared

This issue is NOT resolved. The issue is that the preview of an Excel attachment in Outlook shows all dollar amounts as zeros ($0). This must be an intentional privacy feature setting implemented by QuickBooks because only the dollar values are zero but the other info (ex. financial account names) are viewable in the Outlook preview. It would be great to preview these Excel files within Outlook without having to open each file in the Excel desktop application.

Please pass this along to your developer team. Thanks!

Your valuable feedback goes to our Product Development team to help improve your experience in QBO. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

While waiting for the updates, you can visit our blog to stay current with the latest QuickBooks news and feature enhancements. Here's the link: The QuickBooks Blog.

On the other hand, here's how you can learn more about handling reports in QBO:

Enabling "Edit" worked for me as well. I am using Excel 2010.  Thank you.

I get all zeroes when I export reports ?? Just started happening yestereday.

I am getting this issue in MS Excel 365.  I tried clearing my cache and it didn't help.  I don't have an "Enable Editing" option at the top of my Excel file when I open it, so I can't use that to correct the issue.

The numbers are there, and if I double click in each cell, they will show up.  However, for reports with lots of cells of information, that is not useful.  I have found that if I insert a column at the beginning or in the middle of the data, then all the numbers appear.

This is not how these reports are supposed to function.  The original post was from two years ago.  Is there a long-term fix for this?

Hello,@megtay. Appreciate you for trying to troubleshoot the MS Excel 365 performance.

You can correct the data from Excel by enabling editing in your document. Here's how:

  1. Go to FileInfo.
  2. Select Protect document.
  3. Click Enable Editing.

I'd recommend reaching out to MS Excel 365 Support Team for further assistance.

Then, I'd still suggest giving us a short call since this has been happening on your end. We'll need to look into this matter and investigate the root cause of why the numbers only appear when inserting a column at the beginning/middle of the data. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account and go directly to the Help icon.
  2. Click the Contact us button and enter a short description of your concern.

If you want to run sales or any reports soon, you can use these articles to manage them well:

Know that you can always tap me on my shoulder if you ever need anything else with QuickBooks. I'll be around to back you up. Stay safe, megtay.

Thanks for checking in with us, Oxford_daisy.

We can update your Excel to isolate this. Outdated Excel may have caused exported reports to show incorrect data. Let me guide you on how:

  1. Open the Excel file.
  2. Navigate to the File menu.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Click Update Options.
  5. Hit Update Now.

However, if you don't see the Update Options, this means you already have the latest version of Excel. In this case, I suggest reaching out to the Microsoft Support team. They'll be able to provide you with some steps on how to troubleshoot your Excel. Then, click the Enable Editing option at the top to see the full content of the report with the correct total.
