I recognize the importance of running a report of all your invoices, hello218.
In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), the invoice report feature is unavailable. QBSE only supports certain reports. I have attached a photo below to show you the available reports you can run.
However, if you wish to view the transactions, you can go to the Invoices menu.
Since you mentioned that you used to run this invoice report in the past, may I know how you previously ran it?
Lastly, here's a helpful reference to customize your sales form: Create invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
As always, I'll be around if you need further assistance running reports in QBSE.
I would run the report from the invoices tab. Select the year I was looking for and export (similar to how you can export in the transactions page).
This was extremely helpful to sort my invoices to determine what 1099s I needed and cross check to ensure clients sent the correct amount on their 1099s. I would also run the report monthly to see what my income for the month would be to forecast for the year.
The reports page does not have anything that is similar to this. The income summary just lists all the amounts received without any details.
I would run the report from the invoices page. I would select the year and click export (similar to how you can run the reports from the Transactions pages).
This report was helpful in cross referencing 1099 amounts and ensuring clients were reporting the same amount that I was for tax purposes. I also used it monthly for forecasting.
The reports page attached runs an income report that has all of the income but without any specific details.
I understand that you are concerned about the visibility of invoice details in the new invoice experience of QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), hello218.
The updated interface currently only displays the Invoice number, Date, and Due date, and it does not provide more specific invoice details at the moment.
However, if you need detailed information for running reports such as the Profit and loss report, you can manually check the individual invoices to get a comprehensive view of the specifics. While the Profit and loss report gives an overview of income and expenses, checking the invoices themselves will provide the necessary details for your analysis and record-keeping.
