Hello there, margebisbee.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about turning off the two-step sign verification. Helping you out deactivating the feature is my priority.

Are you getting any error codes/messages? Any details shared can guide me on what steps to take to resolve the issue.

In the meantime, perform the browser troubleshooting to isolate any unexpected behavior when using QBO. You can start by opening the company using the InPrivate or incognito mode. This type of session does not save any browsing history and helps the page load without error from temporary data.

The steps differ depending on the browser you’re using. Here’s how to open one:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + N (Google Chrome).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Mozilla Firefox).
  • Press Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer).
  • Press Command + Shift + N (Safari).

When private browsing opens, let’s turn off the two-step verification. Allow me to help perform this task.

  1. Click the Gear icon at the top to select Intuit Account under Profile.
  2. When the Intuit page opens, tap the Sign in & security menu on the left panel.
  3. This will take you to the Sign in info window.
  4. In the Two-step verification section, click the Turn on link and enter the code.

  5. Hit the Continue button.

If this works fine using this session, clear the cache for your regular browser. This will force your browser to fetch all of the files for a website again, so you will see the most recent version of the page. I also recommend running the Health Checkup Tool to ensure the browser and system are optimally configured for QBO.

Let me also share the Turn on or turn off two-step verification guide for additional resources. It outlines the complete instructions on how to activate and deactivate the feature. Aside from that, it contains steps on how to disable two-step verification using the same or different phone numbers.

This resolution will get you to disable two-step verification in no time.
