Is everything included in the free trial or are some features not available?

Yes, our Community Backer plung is correct, the free trial subscription has the same features with the paid subscription depending on the plan or service you've avail. However, the trial subscription expires after 30 days.

I'm an accountant. A client sent me the Accountant Transfer file from a Trial Version. I can convert the transfer file, but not open it. Is that because it came from a trial version?

It seems that you posted your question to a thread related to QuickBooks Online. If you're using the Desktop version, you should be able to open the file sent from the trial version.

Since you're able to convert the file, I recommend checking the file format. To ensure you can open it, the accountant's copy working file should reflect the QBA extension.

Also, please make sure the Accountant's copy and QuickBooks Desktop versions are compatible. It may be the reason why you're unable to open it.
