When you set up automatic backups for your company data, it saves all of your accounting information and other transactions every time you close or log off from your current business file. Thus, this allows you to switch to another company while the scheduled backup is running in the background. The backup won't affect any financials or entries from the saved data.
If you wish to modify the set time of backing up your file, you can create a schedule and choose a specific time or day of the week. I've added a screenshot for visual reference.
After you set your schedule, click on OK. QuickBooks asks you to enter your Windows sign-in password. This gives QuickBooks permission to run the scheduled backup. Whenever you're ready to create your backup, select Finish.
