I'll show you how to completely remove an account in QuickBooks, @deesbritt.
There are two options to remove an account in QuickBooks Online. You can disconnect it if it’s connected with online banking, or make it inactive from your Chart of Accounts.
You can follow these steps below to remove the account from your list:
From online banking
- Go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu, then choose Banking.
- Select the tile for the bank account.
- Click the Pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
- Select the Disconnect this account on the save checkbox.
- Press Save and Close.

Under Chart of Accounts
- Go to the Gear icon and select Chart of accounts.
- Find the account you want to delete.
- Select the Action ▼ dropdown and select Make inactive.

I’d also recommend clearing your browser’s cache to start fresh. Stored data in your browser is sometimes the reason why accounts doesn’t accurately reflect on the program.
