No solution for QBD 2019. You can buy a new license of QB Desktop 2024 or use the trial version of QB Desktop 2021 for good.

I understand how important it is to resolve this issue, especially if you're having trouble opening the company file. I'm here to provide an update, @woods9898.

Upon checking here, we've been receiving similar reports about customers like you who are unable to open company files in QB Mac on Sonoma. Like any other application, QuickBooks for Mac can encounter compatibility issues when a new operating system is launched. The 2019 version of QuickBooks was developed before the release of this new OS, so it may experience challenges in running smoothly on it.

In this case, I recommend considering upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks Desktop that is compatible with Sonoma MacOS. The newer versions often include bug fixes, stability improvements, and support for the latest operating systems. If you're interested to know more about the new features in the recent version, see this link: What's new in QuickBooks Mac Plus 2023.

Thank you for your understanding and trust in our support. Should you have any further questions or require additional assistance about this issue, please do not hesitate to reach out. I'm here to support you all the way and provide the information you need. Keep safe.

Sonoma crash qb 2019

Hi AbegailS_

Thanks for posting your reply a week or so ago.

Other than buying another QB again or upgrading to an expensive monthly payment option are there other work arounds you can suggest?

I have an older Mac that would still work fine with QB2019 for Mac.

Is it possible to transfer my current company file saved through this week to my older Mac?

That would at least be a solution for the balance of 2023 without having to spend more money right now.

Thanks for your thoughts here.

Also...are there trusted resources to buy QB2023 desktop for Mac ?

What is the 2021 Trial Version?

@GER611

They have released QBD 2024 and you can only buy that version. You must call their sales team or purchase it trough selected partners (tax exempt, no credit card required)

Contact me in private and we can share the trial version of QBD 2021, migrate your company files to another computer or other better options.

Thanks for your reply to me.

Tell me is there a way to take my current backed up QB 2019 company file without opening the actual program and then copy that to an older Mac where I also have the program loaded.

Then use QB on the older computer.

That would be a great work around for the balance of this year for now.

Thoughts?

Yes. We can suggest steps to migrate your company files as I mentioned earlier.

Thanks so much for your help and attention.

I appreciate your time and advice.

I was able to copy my backup file to my older Mac that had QB2019 already installed.

The move looks good so far.  I should be able to complete the year.

I will have to deal with a QB solution for 2024 in December.

Thanks again...
