Subscription Transfer

I am an accountant; my client has signed up for QBO. She just want to have access to reporting and would like to transfer the subscription. She will continue to pay for the subscription. 

I am new to QBO. Initially, she setup her company with default chart of account, vendors, and bank and charge card, with limited categorized transactions.

 

When I received an access to her subscription, not realizing that she has set up herself as a client. I build the client with all required data, such as charts of account, vendors, contactor, bank and charge card. and started reconciling bank and charge card transactions. 

It is bit confusing to her. She wants me to be the prime access but the she wants to use is the one I set it up. What is the best way to clean this up, and setup her limited access. She also wants me to take over her. and delete what she has done.

We can change the primary admin role to an existing user or add a new user if needed. Since your client wishes to transfer the primary admin role to you, please have your client follow the steps below to complete the transfer. Please note that you have to be the primary admin of your firm to change the primary admin role in your client's account.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to QBO as the current primary admin.
  2. Select the Gear icon, then click Manage users.

  3. Find the user you want to make the primary admin.
  4. Ensure the user is listed as Admin. If not, select Edit to change the role to admin.
  5. Click the Action, then select Change primary admin.

  6. Select the Change primary admin again to confirm the change.
  7. Sign out to QuickBooks.

 

You will receive an email invitation that you need to accept. After that, the primary admin role will be transferred to you. Once the transfer is complete, your client will automatically have the company admin role.

Since your client only wants a limited access, you can customize their roles and access rights or add them as a new user and then adjust their roles.
