I appreciate you for letting us know about your concern about logging into your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @carrie16.

Earlier, we received reports that some QBO users had encountered concerns about getting access to their company file. Thus, the issue has already been investigated and addressed by our designated team. You can also visit this website to view status updates for any incidents reported about QuickBooks: QuickBooks Status.

If you still encounter the same problem, I recommend performing troubleshooting steps that help address unusual behavior on a cloud-based application like QBO. We can begin by accessing your company file using a private window. A private window is a helpful tool for troubleshooting browser-related difficulties, as it won't preserve any history. The following are the keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once done, we can clear your browser's cache or cookies to avoid similar issues in the future. Alternatively, opting for one of the browsers that are supported can also be a wise decision.

Furthermore, keep your business organized and on track in QBO. With this, you can add your customers or manage them accordingly to add to your transactions. Refer to the full guidelines in this article: Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have additional questions about managing access to your company file or any QuickBooks-related matters. I'm always available to help. Take care!

The message: you do not have access rights to view this data

A few days ago, I tried to create a Sales Order in the usual way by clicking New>Sales Order.

Unfortunately, I was suddenly unable to gain access rights to my Sales Orders.

This should not be happening, since I am the account administrator.

I also have an Accountant account in my email and tried to access it that way.  No luck.

I did all the usual things, signed out and in again.  Tried a reboot, and still no change.

I contacted tech support.  Did the screen share but they couldn't get it to work either.

It is now escalated, and I will get an email when it is fixed.

If I wait for them, I wouldn't be able to enter any income.  Everything else is working!

Today, I determined that there is a work-around, while Intuit tries to figure it out.

On the Dashboard, there is a box called Shortcuts.  On the lower right corner click the 3 vertical dots.

Next click Edit Shortcuts.  A list of shortcuts will come up.  You can choose up to 10.

Choose "Create Sales Receipt" as one of them.

Now, whenever you want to enter a Sales Receipt, you can access it there.  It will work, for some reason!!

At least there is a way to keep in business, while Intuit tries to figure out what they did wrong.
