Update

Hi,

I am using Non Profit 2009. The PC  I had it on crashed. I loaded the same software to a laptop but I cant seem to get the back up file to load. Its telling me I need to update but I am getting an error code of #12007 and #404. Any help would be appreciated. I did purchase Desktop Pro 2020 today but will my back up file load to this new version?

Thanks,

Darren

Update

Thanks for contacting us, DW7164.

You might be using an updated operating system and other specs. That's why you're getting the error #12007 and #404 when loading the 2009 company file.

You can install the 2020 version and restore the file from there. It will ask you to update upon opening the backup copy. Feel free to read this handy article: Company file compatibility with QuickBooks Desktop when upgrading to learn more about opening a file to another edition of QuickBooks.

The following steps below will guide you through installing the system:

Step 1: Prepare for the install.

Step 2: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Step 3: Decide which install type is right for you.

Step 4: Activate QuickBooks Desktop.

Please refer to this article for instructions and detailed steps with the solution above: Install QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if there's anything else you need, and I'm always glad to help ensure your success.
