A box pops up under the Banking section stating that Security info is needed. It says, 'Mind if we verify that you're you? We do this from time to time to protect your info. (185). And then there is a button to click on Verify your info. When I click it, it automatically sends an email to the wrong email address, not mine.
Hi there, @cneumyer-mission.
Error 185 indicates that your bank needs additional information from you after you enter your login credentials. This implies that your financial institution has implemented extra security measures, such as a security question or a one-time passcode, that you need to provide in order to proceed.
With this, make sure to enter your correct login credentials to avoid issues with email verification.
Moreover, if your bank or FI asks you a security question, you'll have to answer that. You may see this error again the next time you update if you have multiple security questions. As you enter your answers, QuickBooks Online remembers the security questions you have been asked and answers for you. Then, if your bank or FI asks for an OTP, you'll get an OTP (on a device, through text, call, etc.) and enter it each time you see Error 185.
If you do not see the security question pop up, you might need to check another browser or disable the Popup blocker on your browser.

Unfortunately, none of these options helped. I've been on the phone for about 30 minutes trying to explain the problem with someone from Intuit, but I don't believe they're understanding the issue. The email address that is receiving the verification code is not my email address OR the company email address listed under account settings. It's another user's email address. We need it to come to my email address when I'm signed in.
I wish I could make your support experience better, Cneumyer. Rest assured that we'll pass along your experience here on our end so we can better the customer support we provide to you and other users.
No worries, I'm here to assist you in finding the most efficient solution to address this issue promptly. Based on what you mentioned, it seems that the verification code is being sent to a different email address instead of yours. This suggests that your bank may have a different email on file for you.
To ensure that your financial institution has the correct credentials for you, I suggest reaching out to your bank and explaining your situation. It would be beneficial to inform them about the issue and request that they update your information on their end.

I had already been in contact with the bank multiple times and it wasn't anything that they could manage. I searched a little bit more in your help section and found the solution. It was step 3 of the attached image that finally worked. I was just disappointed that the person who I was speaking with didn't know about this -- although I'm not certain they really understood what I was trying to do.
