Buy nowHi there, @alex-atypicalday.
I'm here to provide information about updating bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Before we start, are you unable to select any information upon updating your bank transactions from the For review tab? Any additional details would be greatly appreciated.
One of the reasons why the details you added on your bank transactions from the For review tab didn't stick is that you haven't confirmed them. Please know that all the added information from the For review tab will adjust once confirmed. You can go to the Bank register and review them from there.
I'm adding this article to learn more about categorizing bank transactions in QBO: Categorize and match online bank transactions.
Come back to this post and let me know how it goes, @alex-atypicalday. I'll be around to provide further assistance.
Once your transactions are categorized properly, you can now reconcile your bank account. This will help make sure your QuickBooks transactions match your bank statement.
Wishing you all the best.
Everything is clickable in the "For Review" area however simply clicking "Apply" without confirming will not make any of the information actually stick after navigating away and coming back for example. So essentially my hope was to high level some things using Category, Classes, Locations, etc. as desired and then batch confirm from there when ready. This does not actually seem to work, assuming thats even possible to begin with.
From what I've seen online it appears it should stick by simply clicking apply, though perhaps you are suggesting that is really meant to be a workflow you finish on the same page before navigating away. The reason I wanted to work this way is because the Transactions screen is one of the most robust views by column.
The bank register really does not allow to make adjustments in this way all at once. I am away of the "hidden" reclassify tool and I suppose in combination with recategorizing via the "Expenses" area as required would accomplish this to some degree. But I also wanted to make sure the functionality as I described above is actually supposed to work. As you know, its very tedious to try and cross reference this information once transactions are confirmed. And undoing transactions would create quite the workflow mess as well.
Thanks for the shout back.
