Workstations lose company file connection after shutdown

I have a host PC with new Windows 10 and enterprise 2020 set up in multi user mode.

 I have a workstation with the same new set up.

I have third workstation with Windows 8 and enterprise 2020.

All stations work fine, can find company file and perform all tasks.

Overnight all the PC's are shut down, the next morning both the workstations can't find the company file.

 I need to locate the host PC on the  network and re-establish the connection to the company file on each workstation.

 This has happened two days in a row in the exact same way.

Workstations lose company file connection after shutdown

Good day, C3520.

We recommend a few solutions in order to re-establish the connection. Beforehand, let's ensure QuickBooks is updated to the latest release and run QuickBooks as Administrator.

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Right-click the QuickBooks icon and choose Run As Administrator.
  3. Try to open company file again.

Then, follow the detailed troubleshooting steps outlined in this article: Connection to QuickBooks company file is lost.

If you're having trouble opening your company file in QuickBooks, you can fix this by checking out this link: What to do if you can't open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep us posted on how it goes. We'll be here to keep helping.

@SC3520

Try to run QB Database Server Manager on host and scan the files. You need to set the service to run automatic everytime your host restarts.
