9999 Bank error

I appreciate your time to bring this matter to our attention, andy70.

Before we start, may I know the bank you're currently using? This way, we can provide further explanation and resolution regarding this.

The error code 9999 is a connectivity issue that blocks the connection between your bank and QuickBooks Online (QBO), resulting in the inability to update your QBO bank feeds. Please know that this error resolves itself within 48 hours.

In the meantime, we can get the transactions from your bank so you can manually upload or import your transactions in QBO.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions regarding downloading the CSV file transactions. Every financial institution has different steps. Here are the steps for Bank of AmericaChase, and Wells Fargo.
  3. Before downloading, check the date range and ensure that it should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions, then save the file somewhere you can easily find.

If you've encountered this error for more than 48 hours, I encourage you to contact our QBO support so they can immediately find the root cause of this issue and share an explanation for why this is happening on your end.

After importing, you can match and categorize them from the For Review tab. And when you're ready to balance your account, you can proceed to reconcile the transactions you've uploaded.

We're always here to help you with banking feeds, andy70. Feel free to share your thoughts or questions with us.
