I am new to Quickbooks but have two Quickbooks Companies I am keeping up. One for my work which is a doctor’s office and the 2nd being my husbands carpet cleaning business. In his QBO the dates downloaded from the bank match exactly in QBO to what his bank has but in the doctor’s QBO when they download they are always dated a day behind. At the bank a transaction will for example say 9-11-22 but when it comes into QBO it will show 9-10-22. These is really bothersome for me because in our medical EMR we post our EFT’s on the day received per bank date but when they download as deposits to QBO they are a day behind. If I had to track a payment in out EMR I will always have to remember in QBO it will not be the same date as EMR. Is this a bank issue or is there a setting in QBO I don’t know about?
Thanks for choosing QuickBooks to handle your companies, yorkiemom2.
I have some information regarding the downloaded bank transactions. I'll make sure you can correct their dates.
QuickBooks Online depends on the data sent by your bank. We're unable to change the date directly from the Banking page. However, you can edit it after matching, adding, or categorizing the downloaded bank transaction.
Let's open the transaction on the Expenses or Sales page, then edit the date from there.
The transaction won't be unmatched or transferred back to the Banking page. They will still have the indicator that they have been added or matched from the bank feeds.
Modifying the transaction may result in discrepancies between your bank statement and QuickBooks records. I'd recommend consulting an accountant for the best advice on dealing with date changes.
When you're ready to match your QuickBooks accounts to your bank and credit card statements, you can check out this article for the detailed steps: Reconcile an Account.
Please let us know if you need additional help managing your bank transactions. We want to make sure your record is accurate.
The bank said it was not a known issue to them if that was happening. I guess I will just have to live with it being like that.
