Bank Feed Advanced Mode

Quickbooks has done it again. Changed how bank feeds are handled and broke the program. Had to switch to using "Advanced Mode" bank feed because Express Mode was causing duplicate transactions. Advanced mode sucks. Crashes constantly, errors constantly, slow, slow, slow. And this is not new, been going on for months now, but where are you QB? Not to the rescue that's for sure!

Bank Feed Advanced Mode

I'd be glad to help keep your QuickBooks Desktop running smoothly again, labels1.

I understand this isn't easy for you since you've already dealt with this issue before. There may be an issue with your company file or the QuickBooks program itself that causes it to slow down or crash. Let's run through several troubleshooting steps to fix it.

Before we proceed, ensure you have the latest release to have the newest features and fixes. Then, run the verify and rebuild data to check the issue with your company data.

To verify data:

  1. Open the company file.
  2. Click the File tab at the top menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Choose Verify Data.

For rebuild data:

  1. Open the company file.
  2. Click the File tab at the top menu.
  3. Select Utilities.
  4. Choose Rebuild Data.

Once done, download and install QuickBooks Tool Hub and run Quick Fix my Program.

Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub
  3. Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. When the installation finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  6. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  7. Choose Quick Fix my Program.
  8. Once done, start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

None of this helped. I even created a new company file to test this and the same issues occur, abnormal amounts of crashing and program shutting down without any error or warning. I have called and nothing helps, this boils down to bad programing and it all started after the major bank feed change that occurred in September.

Thanks for the update, @labels1.

Let's go through other troubleshooting steps to help resolve issues with your bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) so you can manage your transactions accordingly.

You can run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool from the Tool Hub. This way, you can automatically diagnose and fix issues with Microsoft components the QuickBooks program uses and any damages to your company file that causes bank feed issues. To do this, here's how:

  1. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub if it's not already open.
  2. In the Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  3. Select QuickBooks Program Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up to 20 minutes.
  4. When the tool finishes, restart your computer and relaunch QuickBooks.

In case the issue persists, continue performing the recommended solutions in this article, starting with Solution 3Fix issues when QuickBooks has stopped working.

Once everything is all set, I also encourage you to reconcile your accounts in QBDT regularly (every month). This helps monitor your income and expense transactions and detect possible errors accordingly. You may want to check out this article as your reference to guide you in doing and fixing reconciliations in QBDT: Learn the reconcile workflow in QuickBooks.

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBDT. I'm always ready to help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @labels1.

Already did all this, it does not work and like I said, I created a NEW COMPANY FILE and re-installed the program to test this issue and the issue still persists.

The function is broken!
