Bank feed matching transaction post reconciliation in QuickBooks online

Hello there everyone,  I manage several non-profits in QBO Accountant and have a question about bank feeds.  We are working on our issue but we have not had our bank feeds since the end of October.  I am curious to know, once we have it up and running, can I still match transactions from the feed although the month was reconciled.  I fear as we are approaching the close of November that our feeds will not be up and running again. What sort of issues will I encounter if I manually reconcile then later our bank feeds are active again.  I hope I am making sense!  Thank you for any insight.  Michelle

Bank feed matching transaction post reconciliation in QuickBooks online

You can only match transactions that aren't reconciled yet from your bank feeds, Michelle-MM.

I've got a way for how you can match already reconciled month transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You can use the special reconciliation tool to undo an entire reconciliation. I'll guide you on how:

  1. Navigate the Accounting tab and select Reconcile.
  2. Choose History by account.
  3. Select the account you want to reconcile and date range from the dropdowns.
  4. Locate the reconciliation on the list.
  5. Click on View report to open the Reconciliation Report.
  6. Review any discrepancies and changes your client wants to make.
  7. Select the dropdown ▼ in the Action column, and then select Undo.
  8. Click Yes and then Undo to confirm.

You can then go back to your banking page to match and categorize your bank transactions. Then, re-reconcile the account to ensure your books are accurate.

I'm Not Seeing the undo option anywhere.  Is this an advanced function?

Welcome to the Community space.

Only users of QuickBooks Online Accountant have access to the Undo button, If you're using QBO, this option wouldn't be visible on your account.

The ability to undo an entire reconciliation is limited to accountants and with QuickBooks Online Accountant. If you don't have one, you can remove individual transactions instead. Prior to making any alterations, it is crucial to seek advice from an accountant to ensure your books are accurate.

To proceed, you can utilize the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Bookkeeping and select Chart of Accounts (Take me there).
  2. Find the account holding the transaction. Then choose Account History.
  3. Select the transaction you want to unreconciled to expand the view.
  4. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an R.
  5. Select the checkbox until the box is blank. This removes the transaction from the reconciliation.
  6. Select Save.
  7. Close the account history.

After you have completed the aforementioned tasks, you can proceed to reconcile your account. In case you encounter any challenges, you can check out the following resources for guidance:
