Bank Feeds by Non-Admin

Help! I am lost and confused by what appears to be a strange limitation.

Scenario: I am setting everything up for a client: Company A.  Company A is one of many companies owned by: Parent Company.

All business processes for Company A are owned by employees of Company A, however the system admins are all employees of Parent Company. The employees of Parent Company are essentially tasked with adding/managing users of various systems and not with actually using any of those systems' business functions.

We have them set up on Desktop Premier right now. Bank Feed is set up for their one bank account.

I need an employee of Company A to process the income bank feeds daily. But apparently you can not access the bank feeds function without the credentials of the Intuit Account's Primary Admin? Am I missing something? This is entry-level, data entry work and there is no way they are going to task their sys-admin with it. This is basically going to ensure that they are required to share the Primary Admin's credentials with a lower-level employee.

Bank Feeds by Non-Admin

Welcome to the Community, Deep. I've got the details needed to manage bank feeds without admin access in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

I can see how affecting it is for everyone when you have to always borrow your admin's credentials to manage your company's bank feeds. Nonetheless, we can set up the employees who are assigned to this area as a new user in the application. I'll show you how:

  1. Log in to QuickBooks Desktop as an admin.
  2. Go to the Company menu, and select Users.
  3. From the option, select Set up Users and Roles.
  4. In the User List tab, click the New button and enter the user information.
  5. Select the Banking option from the Available Roles, and hit the Add>> button.
  6. After that, click OK.

You can also view what specific task you're permitted to do within the company by clicking the View Permissions button. Moreover, I added this resource where you can run through the steps of managing users' roles and access: Create and manage users and roles in QuickBooks Desktop.

In line with your role in the company, I got you these resources to keep you guided about adding and matching bank transactions as well as to reconcile this to avoid discrepancies in the future:

As always, Deep, you can tap me in this forum if you need additional guidance about be heading of your company tasks. We're open 24/7 to help you. Take care!
