Bank Feeds in Accountants Copy

Client and I are both using the 2023 Desktop version. They sent me an accountants copy to make changes. However, when I go to Banking> Bank Feeds, the Bank Feed Center is grayed out. QuickBooks support got disconnected but they mentioned needing to change a setting or preference on my (Accountant version) side so I can get into Bank Feeds.

Anyone came across this in Accountants copies?

Bank Feeds in Accountants Copy

Hello there, @Brandi_NLA.

I can see how important to make changes to the accountant's copy that was sent. I'm here to help you with this.

You'll need to remove your accountant's copy restriction first to resend a copy to your accountant. This way, QuickBooks bank feeds will not be grayed out. Removing the accountant's restriction means you are voiding the initial copy that was created. Before doing so, ensure to back up your company file first.

Then, you can now follow these steps on how to remove your Accountant's Copy Restriction:

  1. Go to the File menu
  2. Select Send Company File.
  3. Click the Accountant's copy, then Client Activities.
  4. Select Remove Restrictions.
  5. Click YesI want to remove the Accountant's Copy restrictions, then simply click OK.

Here's an article you can read for more details on removing your accountant's restriction: Remove the accountant's copy restriction.

Once done, they can now resend your accountant's copy to your accountant.

I'm also attaching this link that you can read for reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop. This outlines the steps on how to match your bank and QuickBooks balance accurately.

Please get back to me if you have follow-up questions with the steps I've shared with you. I'm just right here to help you out. I wish your business continued to succeed! Happy Holidays!
