Bank Feeds

I am using QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus Edition 2023 in multi-user mode logged in as Admin.

Today when I attempted my daily bank feeds I received the following error:
"That sign-in info was correct, but we can only connect certain types of accounts. You can try a different bank. (2106)"

When I looked at my various credit card accounts there were many old transactions for the main credit card in the sub credit card accounts. We have multiple employees that have credit cards with their own credit card number.  However there is only one statement for all the accounts.  Therefore I have the main account and then the multiple sub accounts under the main account as a credit card.

I was getting the same error for my checking accounts as well.

I do the bank feeds every week day and did not experience this until today.

What is happening Intuit?

Bank Feeds

Getting an error message when you're doing bank feeds isn't the experience we want you to have.

Before anything else, it would help to know which bank you've connected to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). I'll check here on my end if there are any ongoing investigations into your bank's connection with QuickBooks.

In the meantime, I suggest refreshing your bank's connection in your QBDT account. I'll guide you through the process.

First, ensure you've switched Single-user Mode and signed in to your Intuit Account. Then, disconnect all related accounts to avoid any discrepancies. Afterward, set up an account for your bank feed and download transactions with Express Web Connect. Once done, the latest transactions will auto-download.

For more detailed steps, please refer to this article: Refresh your connection for Express Web Connect online banking.

For future use, here's an article in case you want to create rules to help QuickBooks match your transactions: Create rules to categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

If you have any other concerns about your bank feeds, please leave a reply to this post. I want to make sure you're taken care of.

Thanks for clarifying what bank account you're using, @Login

I can help you resolve the issue you're experiencing with your bank feeds in QuickBooks Desktop. To fix this, we need to disconnect and refresh your bank's connection in your account. Allow me to guide you through the steps.

Before we disconnect your bank feeds, you need to match or delete all of the downloaded transactions in that account, so QuickBooks won't let you change if there are still pending transactions. After doing this, you can now turn off the bank feed.

QuickBooks Desktop for Windows

  1. Go to Lists and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Right-click the account you want to turn off.
  3. Choose Edit Account.
  4. Go to Bank Settings and select Deactivate all online services.
  5. Hit OK, then Save & Close.

QuickBooks for Mac

  1. Go to Lists and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Highlight the account and pencil icon to edit.
  3. Choose Online Settings.
  4. Choose Download Transactions and select Not enabled.
  5. Hit OK to confirm, and click OK.

After completing the necessary steps, set up a bank feed account and use Express Web Connect to download the latest transactions automatically.

On the other hand, you can also visit your bank's website to check and ensure it works correctly. If the issue persists, feel free to contact our customer care team since they have the necessary tools to investigate and assist you further.

For future reference, you can visit this article about adding and matching transactions: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm all ears if you need further assistance with bank feeds in QBDT. The Community space is always available.

Bank Feeds

Strangely enough I did not have any issues with my bank feeds today.  I did not do any of the recommendations.

Perhaps Intuit figured out the issue and corrected it on their end?
