Hello AlI I hope you can help ?
I have been subscribing to QB for 14 years now and finally decided to use the bank reconciliation tool however i have a problem. The last time I tried to use this was 2016 and it did not reconcile by about 13K. All I want to do is reset the bank balance on 1/5/21 so that i can use the tool for this years accounts ending 30/4/22.
I havent ever tried to reconcile the paypal account so i guess for that i just need to load a starting balance. It has been suggested that i undo all the transactions back to that point but thats impossible as there must be at least 50000 entries per annum
Thank you in advance,

You can edit an account's opening balance from your chart of accounts.
I've also included a couple detailed resources about reconciling which may come in handy moving forward:

Hi there, @karenwelchz.
Thanks for taking the time to follow up with us. I'm happy to lend a hand with some screenshots of the process.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Take care!
Thanks for providing the screenshot, karenwelch2.
To be sure, are you using the QuickBooks Online UK or the global version? If so, you can click the Account history link. Since the View register option is only available for the US version. Then, you can look for the Opening Balance Equity entry and follow the steps outlined by my colleague Tori B to change the opening balance amount.
To further guide you on the reconciliation process, you can read the articles below:
I'm also adding this helpful resource to learn what to do if QuickBooks Online doesn't match your bank statement at the end of your reconciliation: Fix issues at the end of reconciliation in QuickBooks Online.
Feel welcome to get back on this thread if you need further assistance with reconciliation. We're always here to help you.
