Bank Reconciliation

Hi

I need to undo several months (approx 10 months) bank reconciliation as they had previously not been recconciled correctly.  THere are too many errors to just make subsequent alterations.  My problem is that I understand that if you undo bank reconciliation you loose any attachments, from what has previously been written.  Is there any way that this can be prevented from happening?

Any suggestion are very welcome.

Thank you.

Thanks for the prompt response, @julie39. I can definitely help you with downloading all of your attachments into a single file in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

In QBO, all of your attachments are stored on the Attachments page. You can use the Batch actions feature to export all the documents and files at once. I'll show you how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Choose Attachments under the Lists section.
  3. Place a checkmark on the attachments you want to export. You can select them all by clicking the checkbox next to Thumbnail.
  4. Click the Batch actions button, then select Export.
  5. Extract the downloaded zip file to your computer.

I'm including a screenshot below for your visual reference:

For more information about attachments in QBO, kindly refer to this article: Attachments in QuickBooks Online.

In addition, here's an article that you can read to help download your other data to your local hard drive: Export reports, lists, and other data from QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to post again if you have other questions besides downloading your attachments. I'm always here to help. Take care always!

You made the right choice in reaching out to us, docampo23.

When you undo a reconciliation, it is true that the attachments in the previously reconciled transactions will be removed. There's no way we can prevent it. You'll want to manually attach them when reconciling again.

Feel free to read through this article for the entire process on how to undo reconciliation: How to Unreconcile a Transaction or Undo a Reconciliation

Here are the references that you can visit about reconciliation in QBO:

Should you have anything else you'd like to go over while reconciling, feel free to reach out to us again. I'm always here to assist you further.

Thank you.  Is there anyway of gathering all the attachments into one file, there are just so many to have to individually go through a pull off before I do this.  I unfortunately do not have the originals as somebody else had done the accounts before me.

Many thanks
