Byline Bank Connection Broken

Last year, Byline Bank updated their login credentials merging two fields, Company ID and User ID, into one field for User ID. Since then, the connection to my bank feed in QB has been broken. I can no longer log into Byline through the QB portal because the QB login credentials still require a Company ID + User ID as two fields. That results in an error when I try to log in. I have spoken with a Byline customer service and they said this is an update that needs to be handled on the QB side. Is this a known problem and is there already a pending ticket to make this update? How can I be notified when it is fixed? Thank you!

Byline Bank Connection Broken

Thank you for posting the details here on the Community page, KatyOz.

I see that your bank has changed its website URL, but the information within QuickBooks hasn't been updated. This is why you can no longer access the existing connected Byline Bank account within your bank feed. When a bank updates its website, you’ll also need to manually update it in QuickBooks and there’s no need to create a ticket for this.

To access to your updated Byline Bank account, disconnect first the old URL from your bank feed, which still displays the fields for Company ID and User ID, and then connect to the updated URL. Before disconnecting, make sure to categorize all pending transactions in the "For Review" tab to prevent losing them.

Here are the steps to disconnect the old URL:

  1. Go to your Bank Transactions page.
  2. Select the tile for the account you want to disconnect.
  3. Click the Pencil icon on the tile and choose Edit account info.
  4. In the pop-up window, check the box labeled Disconnect this account on save.
  5. Hit Save and close.

Once you've completed these steps, you can connect the updated bank URL by following these instructions:

  1. Navigate to the Bank Transactions page.
  2. Click Link Account.
  3. Search for the name of your bank or copy the URL directly from your bank's website and paste it into QuickBooks to ensure you’re accessing the correct URL.
  4. Enter the User ID and Password you use on your bank's website, then select Continue.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the connection. Your bank may require additional security checks.
  6. Select the specific bank accounts (such as savings, checking, or credit card accounts) you want to connect.
  7. Click Connect, then select Done.
  8. Return to the Bank Transactions page and refresh to automatically download your most recent transactions.
