Can anyone assist me with resolving this outstanding issue which originated from QuickBooks attempting to withdraw funds from an inactive account?

The Debtor in Possession went ahead and open a DIP Account at a DIP Bank. The Debtor subsequently set up the Operating, Payroll and Tax account in QuickBooks and connected all accounts to the DIP Bank.

Few days later, the DIP Bank’s back office realized that the DIP Account was not correctly set up as a DIP Account and closed the DIP Account.
The correct DIP Account was opened at the same DIP Bank, and Debtor went ahead and disconnect the incorrect account in QuickBooks and connect the NEW DIP Account in QuickBooks and link the transactions from the DIP Bank to QuickBooks
The Operating, Payroll and Tax Account has over $1000 in each account and yet QuickBooks is unable to withdraw funds from the Tax Account and kept the account on hold for three weeks now.

What to do, can anyone help me resolve this or suggest other software

Can anyone assist me with resolving this outstanding issue which originated from QuickBooks attempting to withdraw funds from an inactive account?

Thanks for reaching out to us, Colin.

I can see where the problem is. We deduct the direct deposit amounts and payroll taxes due from your business bank account if you use our automatic tax payment and form filing feature. Your account may be on hold since the debit was returned due to an issue with the bank account.

We send an email with a specific return code and all the information required to remove the hold to the Principal Office or Primary Principal listed on your payroll account. If the Principal Officer or Primary Principal specified on your account didn't receive the email, ask them to check their junk or spam folder. I recommend contacting our Payroll Support if they're unable to locate it.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Click Talk to a human.
  4. When asked, enter "getting an error message when deleting an account."
  5. Choose a way to connect either Start a chat or Get a callback.

Support is available from Monday until Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM PT.

For your reference, you can read the following articles below for more insight in managing payroll and tax payments:

Additionally, I've added this resource to guide you in changing your payroll bank account in QuickBooks Online: Change your payroll bank account.

You're welcome to post again if you have further questions about payroll bank account or tax payments. We're always available to help you.

Can anyone assist me with resolving this outstanding issue which originated from QuickBooks attempting to withdraw funds from an inactive account?

Thanks to the powers of the community, where numbers are strength, the issue was resolved after three weeks.

The unanswered questions are “Why the six representatives spoken to through the “Contact Us” link since 01/10/23, could not have provided the  10 minutes assistance received today and resolve the issues, even though, they were all granted “Smart Look” access.

However, today’s professionals cause us to access Account and Settings, clicking Payments, Manage Accounts and the job was done to Merchant Account which still had the old disconnected account – Money In. Then, we went on to Payroll Settings, scroll down to Bank Accounts, effect the changes to Tax Account – Money Out

Nonetheless, somehow, we click on all those tabs mentioned to make the changes but somehow fail to effect the changes. Thanks to the powers of the community, where numbers are strength, the issue was resolved.

Thanks,

I will share the issue with QuickBooks Online Payroll Essential and Desk Top Pro, which I am stuck with for now
