Can I delete all my data without cancelling my account?

I purchased Quickbooks from Techsoup and I fear if I cancel the account to delete all my data, when I go to re-add the account it may not be available from Techsoup. Only one subscription is available from Techsoup every two years.

Can I delete all my data without cancelling my account?

Welcome to the Community, @bghsexeccom-gmai. I’ll help you with purging data in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you're using QuickBooks Online Plus, Essentials, or Advanced, you have the option to purge your account if your data is less than 60 days old. You won't be able to restore or reverse the system's deletion of all data entered into the company.

The purge the data, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Change the URL to include /purgecompany.
  3. Example: URL shows https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage, change to: https://...qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.
  4. The following screen will show a summary of the items that will be erased.
  5. Once the data has been removed, type the word "YES" and then click OK.
  6. When you've finished making your choices, click Wipe Data.
  7. You will be sent to your home page after the deletion is complete.

If your data is more than 60 days old, you need to cancel it and start a new subscription. You can check out this article to learn more about cancelling your QuickBooks Online subscription. Then, you can recreate another one.

Read this article for more information on this action: Delete your data and start over in QuickBooks Online.
