I have a duplicated account due to importing problems. Before I delete the one account, I want to cross check it with the good account we are going to use and make sure all the transactions got pulled over into the one we're going to keep. Thank you!

Yes, you are correct! You can open two accounts at a time. Since you've mentioned you have duplicate accounts due to importing problems, you can merge them instead to make sure your books are accurate. Simply ensure that the Account Type, and Detail Type are all the same.
Go to Settings then select the Chart of Accounts.
Find the account from the Dropdown in the Action column and then Edit.
