Let me provide a few details about recording cashback transactions in QuickBooks for Mac, @rllewis.
You’ll need to make sure that you select the right category when adding the cashback.
If you've selected the Credit Card as an account in the line item, it will post as Debit and Credit in your Credit Card. This results to posting a charge and payment.
You can create a Credit Card Credit to record the credit given by your bank. Then, you’ll have to connect or match it to the downloaded transaction. Let me show you how:
- Go to the Banking menu.
- Choose Enter Credit Card Charges.
- Enter/select the necessary details in each field.
- Click Save.
I recommend running reports to measure and compare your record in the system. The data you’ve collected can serve a number of important purposes, such as other functions completed in QuickBooks. You can check this article as a reference: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
