CC Reconciled. CC Payment

Hi, after CC has been reconciled, QBO shows two options, check or bill. From historical transactions, it looks like neither option was used by the client. Does it mean that CC and Bank accounts are connected, if yes, will CC be on auto pay or I still need to perform a transfer from checking to CC to pay the credit card?

CC Reconciled. CC Payment

Hello there, @Victoria_M.

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), we'll have to manually pay the credit card.

Here’s how:

  1. Click the +New icon and select Pay down credit card under Others.
  2. Select the card you use for the payment.
  3. Enter the Payment amount and the date of payment.
  4. Choose the bank account you paid the credit card with.
  5. If you made a payment with a check, select I made a payment with a check. If you made your payment electronically, use the EFT number. Otherwise, enter the check number in the Check No. column.
  6. Select Memo and Attachments, then adhere to the on-screen directions to add notes or file attachments.
  7. Hit Save and Close.

I also added this article for alternative methods of recording your payments to credit cards in QuickBooks Online.

CC Reconciled. CC Payment

+New/Pay down credit card option - this is to record the payment, not to actually pay credit card, correct?

Thanks for getting back with the Community, Victoria_M.

You're correct, using your Pay down credit card option is for recording payments you've already made.

After reconciling your credit card transactions, you can make a payment towards a credit card. You'll see a few different options.

Here's each option and what they mean:

  • Pay all or a portion of the bill now - Pay in full or as a partial payment.
  • Enter a bill to pay later - This moves your balance in the credit card account to Accounts Payable so it can be paid later.
  • Done - Select this if you don't want to record credit card balance payments or bills while reconciling.

If you want to make a full or partial payment, you can choose Pay all or a portion of the bill now.
