Chase Bank Feed

Chase tends to have long descriptions which throws off the Rules concept a little bit.

For example, say Coca-Cola was my vendor.

Chase will have Online Payment to 11122233344 To Coca-Cola.

Downloaded as will have Online Payment to 11122233344 To Co

Bank Memo will have ca-Cola

To close this gap, I would need Downloaded as to accept more characters from the Description line in Chase.  Is there any way to do that?

Chase Bank Feed

I appreciate you posting here in the Community, GoatYoga. I'll share details about the character limitation on the description line of your bank transactions from Chase.

I can see how convenient this would be for you and your business since you've set up these rules to categorize these transactions easily. However, the ability to accept more of the character limitation in your bank memos is unavailable. That said, I'd suggest sending this feature request to our Product Developers. This way, they'll consider your suggestion and include them in our future product updates.

Here's how to submit feedback:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the top and select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click on Product Suggestion and enter your feedback or suggestion.
  3. Once done, tap Send feedback.

For you to be updated with our latest news and updates, including product improvements, I'd suggest visiting the What's New section on your QBDT account or referring to this link to view our product update blogs.

Moreover, I've added this article to guide you further in the future when doing other QuickBooks tasks: Help articles for QuickBooks Desktop.

Let us know in the comments below if you have other QuickBooks-related concerns. We'll be right here, willing to lend a hand. Take care!

Chase Bank Feed

Thank you.

I thought it was an issue on Chase's end.

For example, I also have a bank feed with Bank of America.

Bank of America has the description in Downloaded as and then they repeat the beginning of that description in the Bank Memo.

This makes it easy to create rules based on Description or Memo.

If Quickbooks is responsible for the separate Banks QBO files.  You would have to wonder why there is an inconsistency between how Chase QBO files are created and how Bank of America QBO files are created.
