I'll share with you some learning about reconciling transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Currently, there isn't a way to keep the checkmark invisible until the transaction is reconciled. The light checkmark means the transactions are matched to your Online banking, and it's cleared. That's the reason why we're unable to keep this hidden. For more details about reconciling accounts, check out this article: Reconcile bank and credit card accounts (Mac).
