Hi there, VictoriaRock23.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll share details on how updating the bank URL works in QuickBooks Online, then ensure you can achieve your goal by following the steps below.
Changing and updating the bank's website or URL is done by disconnecting the account first within QuickBooks Online. With this, you need to verify and make sure that BMO Harri which uses the old URL is disconnected from the program.
Here's how:
- Go to Banking on the left pane and select Banking at the top.
- Choose the account you want to change and then click Edit (pencil icon).
- Click Edit account info.
- In the Account window, check the box next to Disconnect this account on save.
- Hit Save and Close.
Once done, you can reconnect the bank account by logging in to your bank's website to copy and paste the updated URL into the Connect account page in QBO. Then, follow the on-screen instructions until you successfully connect your bank account to QuickBooks. This way, you're able to relink your bank and continue with the auto download and record transactions to the same register. You can use this article as a reference in connecting accounts in QBO: Connecting bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.
Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can review downloaded bank and credit card transactions by matching and adding them to avoid double entries: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Please give me an update on how things work for you. I would like to make sure that you're all set in changing your bank's URL. Have a great day, VictoriaRock23.
