Credit Card Bank Feed Use?

I have been downloading my credit card charges. I have to go in to each and manually click around to add job detail. I am wondering what is the time savings and or benefit of downloading the transactions, when I still have to edit so many entries?

I am using QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2023.

Thanks

Credit Card Bank Feed Use?

I understand your point, @Misty. Let me hop in and provide you with more details about the banking transaction downloaded in Quickbooks Desktop.

In QuickBooks Desktop, the details of downloaded transactions come from your bank. This means QuickBooks relies on the information provided by your financial institution to populate the transaction data.

If your bank provides general details on your banking transaction, we can advisable to contact your bank and ask if they can provide more data to save you time editing the job detail.

Furthermore, QuickBooks Desktop allows you to import bank transactions using the (.QBO) file format. If your bank can provide the necessary data in this format, you can easily import it into QuickBooks Desktop. Alternatively, if your bank provides the data in a different format, you can use a converter tool to convert it to the (.QBO) format before importing it into QuickBooks Desktop. This way, you can efficiently manage your bank transactions within the software.

Please visit this page for more insight about the two ways to import transactions via Web Connect: Download bank feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm also adding this page for your guide with common file types and extensions you may see in QuickBooks Desktop for Windows and Mac: File types and extensions used by QuickBooks Desktop.

I'm always here to support you with Banking topics. Feel free to reach us again.
