Join nowHi,
I just took over as our Clubs treasurer in January 2019. Starting the reconciliation process for 2018 I noticed some cash deposits were recorded in Quick books not deposited to the bank. I found the cash in a envelope. It was for 7 different dates. Can I reconcile those dates from last year (2018) even though I deposited the cash in 2019?
Thank you,
Jim

Thanks for getting back to me, Jim.
Yes, you can continue reconciling your transactions in 2018 and match them from the cash deposits made in 2019. Also, you can use your bank statement as your reference.

I'll help you with your reconciliation concern, Jim.
QuickBooks reconcile transactions based on the date of the bank statement. Since the deposit was made in 2019, the reconciliation will also be reconciled in the same year. Also, since it was already recorded in 2018, we should not record this again to avoid duplicate transactions.

Hi Joyce;
Thank you for your response. So I would just treat the reconciliation from 2018 with the actual cash not deposited into the Bank until 2019 just as if the cash was deposited in 2018 so i can reconcile 2018.
Regards,
Frank
Hi Joyce_P;
So I can just continue to reconcile 2018 and just match up the cash deposited in the bank made in 2019? I did not plan to make duplicate entries.
Regards,
Jim
