Direct Transaction Downloads of Bank Feeds Stop Working

I used to download the bank transactions through Bank Feeds directly from my Business Advantage account with Bank of America. Two months ago, I downgraded my Bank of America account to Business Fundamental which also supports Direct Connection to QB. But the Download Transactions on Bank Feeds in QB stopped working ever since. I tried deactivating and reactivating the Bank Feeds a couple of times. There is an error message of OL-393 all the time. I called Bank of America 3 times and got same answer: all Online Services had been turned on and Direct Connection should be Okay. I chatted with QB online support twice. The representatives were not responsible at all. I typed a long paragraph to describe the problems. They did not provide any solutions but asking my name and then left the chat all of a sudden. (What kind of service is this?!) Anyway, I don't think there is anything else that Bank of America can do at this point. It must be QB. Please help. FYI: I can manually download the QBO file from Bank of America and import it to Bank Feeds. I am using QB Desktop 2019.

Direct Transaction Downloads of Bank Feeds Stop Working

We understand the challenges you're having regarding with your bank feed, @goldentigerinc.

I'll be happy to share a solution and get your bank connected.

Getting OL-393 is caused by a variety of communication issues between QuickBooks and your bank, or a company file.

You can fix the error code OL-393 by checking your bank connection and QuickBooks company file. Before doing so, make sure to back up your company file before following the steps.

Let's create a test company file to determine if this is the case. Here's how:

  1. Click the File menu, select New Company.
  2.  Select Express Start or Start Setup.
  3.  Enter All required info, choose Create Company, and then hit Start Working.

If you're still getting an error,  it means that there's a problem with the connection from your bank. To resolve this, let's log in to your bank and check if you have any bank security notifications.

But, if you don't get any error, it means that there aren't any issues with your bank. We can reset the connection to your bank to refresh your online banking connection. You sometimes need to do this if your bank did an update to their online banking service.

  1. Turn off Bank Feeds for the account you’re having a problem with.
  2. Turn on Bank Feeds again. This refreshes QuickBooks’ connection to your bank.
  3. Perform the same task you were trying to do when you got the error.

Please review this guide for your reference: Get help with error OL 301 or 393.

If there's anything else I can help you about bank connections, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand. Wishing you and your business continued success!
