"I am trying to make one but it says I already have one."

Have you checked your existing Chart of Accounts?

Check:

  •  Account Type = Current Assets
  •  Detailed Type = Undeposited Funds

It's possible its 'Account Name' may be different than the "Undeposited Funds" account.

Glad to have you here in the Community, @xcdemarco-studen!

Let me help you fix the issue with your Undeposited Funds account so you can hold payments from customers before depositing them in the bank.

The Undeposited Funds is a default account automatically generated by QuickBooks Online. That said, you don't have to create a new account but you have to search for it in the Deposited to dropdown when receiving payments.

If you can't locate your Undeposited Funds account, it might have a different name. I'll guide you on how to check:

  1. Click on the Gear icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Under the Detail Type, look for the Undeposited Funds.
  3. Once you've located it, click the dropdown arrow beside View register and select Edit.
  4. Change the Account name according to your preference.
  5. Select Save.

Once you're ready to deposit multiple payments and combine them together in the bank, please see this article: Record and make bank deposits in QuickBooks Online.

Feel free to post here in the Community if you have additional questions about the Undeposited Funds account. We'll make sure to assist you with every concern. Have a nice day!
