Downloading a .QBO file into Quickbooks

Has anyone figured a way to be able to download .qbo files into Desktop 2019, current version, without doing a subscription service?

The program does everything I need it to do except that anymore. I just don't want to go back to manually loading in the transactions.

One way is to convert the QBO file to an IIF file, which can be imported using any version of QuickBooks Desktop. Use our OFX/QFX/QBO to IIF Converter to convert the file. You can try it free for 30 days in trial mode to see if it works well for your needs.

[OFX/QFX/QBO to IIF Converter]

No, it's for Windows only.

RE: And why would Quickbooks only block .QBO files and not IIF?

They see online banking/bank feeds as a connected feature, and include QBO files - which use the online banking/bank feeds feature as part of that.  All connected features are disabled when they pull support for a QB version.

Other than *.qbo, what file format does your bank provide?

Are you using QBD 2019 with a single user?

I understand that you want to download the .qbo file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), salaudio.  I'm here to provide additional information on how to download bank transactions into QuickBooks.

The option to download.qbo files using QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2019 have been discontinued. You'll need to manually enter the transactions or upgrade to the latest version of QBDT to download the file.

Meanwhile, You'll have to use a third-party application to convert its file type. That said, you can visit our Desktop App Market to find the best tool that can convert your downloaded files. Once you're in, just enter a keyword in the search bar or go to the Categories section to filter the results.

Additionally, I'll be sharing the following articles to help manage your bank transactions in QuickBooks:

Let me know if you have other importing concerns or managing transactions in QuickBooks, I'm just around to help. Have a great day!

You can prepare data with the following template

Bank AccountTransaction DatePayeeChk No.AccountAmountMemoClassBillableBillable Entity
Checking01/09/2020AT&T123Utilities:Telephone-100Check Payment N
Checking02/09/2020Jane Doe141Product Sales150Deposit N

then use an importer tool to proceed (non subscription license)

https://get.transactionpro.com/qbd

Another option, use the trial version for any supported QB Desktop version for good to import *.qbo files directly.

I've never had a problem with it. And unlike these phony, random "accounting" sites purport (sites that Quickbooks has put up that are just cleverly disguised links to their sales line), there isn't some problem with the .qbo file or some issue with my bank, etc.. I've been downloading the transactions as .qbo file for years and importing them without a problem, until July of last year when Quickbooks decide to push everyone to buy a subscription. So for no real reason (other than money grab), they put a code in to the latest version of the update that blocks the transactions from loading. That's why all these phony accounting sites tell you that the first "trick" to fixing the OL-222 error message is to download the latest verison of the software.

I would happily buy the latest version of QB Desktop but you don't sell one. You want everyone to buy a subscription, and put their information into the cloud. I don't need or want to do either. So if you have a link where I can purchase QB Desktop for Mac 2023 for a one-time price, please share it with me.

QB Desktop 2023 for Mac is not for you. You may consider running the trial version for QB Desktop (Windows) for good on Parallels as a workaround.

Why is Desktop 2023 not for me? I'd honestly rather pay $200 for a QB product than a third party one that involves a whole lot of work that isn't much easier than just entering the transactions for 2 credit cards. I am a one man company, doing everything, including the accounting.

QB Desktop 2023 for Mac is only available for subscription. You also cannot use the trial version of QBD 2023 Mac for more than 30 days.

Is there a Transaction converter program that runs on Mac? to convert from .QBO to IIF?

No. Another option, use the trial version for QB Desktop for Windows to run on Parallels. You can use the trial version for good with a workaround to lower your cost.
