Error 500 Bank Feeds from Desktop 2020 QuickBooks

I'm new to QuickBooks and try to set up my bank feeds.   When I use the connection wizard through QuickBooks.

1) I do find my bank listed.

2) I'm able to enter my user name and password.

3) But when I get to the security question on by the bank, I get the Error 500.

4) I've tried over 10 times to connect.  it did connect once by allowing me to answer the security question. But I lost the connection before I was able to lock the connection.

Error 500 Bank Feeds from Desktop 2020 QuickBooks

Hello, snkswellseasoned.

Welcome to the Community space.

For us to further verify this, I recommend getting in touch with your bank to know if there are changes or updates from their end.

In the meantime, you can manually import your bank transactions in Quickbooks so they will become available in your bank feeds.

To start, you'll need to download your bank transactions via web connect. I'll guide you how.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the Bank Feeds  tab, then choose Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Find your bank (Unison Credit Union) and select Download Transactions. This opens a browser window to your bank's website.
  4. Sign in to your bank's website to download the Web Connect file.

Once done, you can now import your bank transactions in  QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Choose Import, then select Web Connect Files.
  3. Select the QBO file you saved, then select Open.
  4. When prompted to Select Bank Account, choose either Use an existing QuickBooks account if the account is already set up or Create a new QuickBooks account if not.
  5. Click Continue, then select OK.
  6. Go to the Bank Feeds Center to review your transactions.

Once you get your monthly bank statements and import your bank transactions, you can start reconciling your accounts: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Desktop .

Let me know how it goes by clicking the Reply button. I'll get back to help.

Error 500 Bank Feeds from Desktop 2020 QuickBooks

Hi, snkswellseasoned.

I'm here to help and ensure you'll be able to set up your banking feeds in QuickBooks Desktop.

Updating the QuickBooks Desktop release version is a good start when it comes to fixing program-related issues and makes sure to create a back up copy of your company file.

Once done, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague above. However, if you're still unable to set up your bank feeds, I'd suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Desktop Support for further investigation.

To learn more about banking in QuickBooks Desktop, you can visit our Help Articles for some "How do I" step.

Don't hesitate to drop me a reply below if you have any other bank feeds concerns. I'd love to help.
