Express web connect isn't supported for your bank

Seems this whole Express Web Connect thing is busted for Chase. Doesn't seem to be a fix out there as apparently updates folks have made don't work either.

Lots of old posts on how to refresh for this exact service which is what we were all told to move to. Now it's broken with no apparent fix. Going to blame Chase now or what? Any resolution forthcoming?

So what's the deal?chase web.png

Express web connect isn't supported for your bank

Hello, GlobalMind.

I can see the need to get your banking issue resolved immediately. No worries, I've come up with a solution to help you fix this issue.

To provide a safer and better banking experience, we have upgraded bank feeds. I recommend you refresh your Express Web Connect online banking connection. This helps in reconnecting the bank account's connection to your QuickBooks Desktop.

But before we proceed, please update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release and create a backup file. Once ready, follow these steps:

  1. Prepare to switch to Express Web Connect.
  2. Turn off bank feeds for your account.
  3. Set up an account for Bank feeds.
  4. Download transactions with Express Web Connect.

For the detailed step-by-step process, I recommend visiting this article: Refresh your connection for Express Web Connect online banking.

Additionally, let me share these links that you can utilize to help manage your bank transactions in QuickBooks:

Express web connect isn't supported for your bank

If I may ask, what exactly is happening with your Chase account(s)?  My Chase Bank account seems to work just fine, setup in express mode.  However, my Chase CREDIT CARD account balance at the Bank is shown in QBD Bank Feeds as NEGATIVE number, ie -$18.00.  The account balance shown "In QuickBooks" is $18.00, ie only difference is no minus sign to the left of the $18.00.  $18.00 is correct and displays without minus sign at Chase.com.  My CREDIT CARD account @ Discover now behaves exactly the same.  Interesting that these are the 2 banks that recently had to be re-setup in QBD Bank Feeds.  2 Support agents have been unable to resolve this.  One said he would e-mail an explanation which I requested because I could not understand at least 50% of words he spoke.  Email has yet to arrive, and it's not in Spam filter.  Other agent, a chat agent, suggested I could correct the negative -$18.00 with a Journal Entry!  Also said Bank is reporting the balance as negative and suggested I call bank to get fixed.  I have the copied chat transcript to prove this!  I would be interested in hearing if your issues are similar and if a fix has been found.  TY, RA.

Express web connect isn't supported for your bank

I know this hasn't been an easy process for you, rta1708.

Let me make it up to you by making sure you'll get a detailed explanation of why your Chase credit card shows negative.

I understand that you've contacted our support team, but I would still recommend reaching out to them again. They have full access to your account and can review the transactions made in your credit card account. They can also determine its main cause to ensure it won't happen again.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact Us.
  4. Give a brief description of your issue.
  5. Once done, click Message Us or Let's talk.

To ensure you'll be assisted on time, please see our support hours.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you review downloaded bank and credit card transactions and put them in the correct accounts: Create Rules to Categorize Transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I appreciate your understanding on this matter. Please know that I'm determined to get this resolved.
