Google location history cannot be imported

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community space, @dgscan. Let's work together to have your location history imported inside your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) company.

If you're using QBSE mobile, you'll want to check your current app settings and ensure they are on point so when you import your location history, it'll seamlessly go through the program. You can check this article for more details: Fix mileage tracking issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed for Android.

On the other hand, if you're using the web version, we can perform some basic browser troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of having issues with temporary internet files accumulated by your browser. These internet files can affect your browsing experience and sometimes cause your operation to get stuck. You'll want to access your account using an incognito or private browser. Feel free to use these shortcut keys:

Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
Safari: Command+Shift+N

After accessing your company, try to import your Google location history and if it works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

If the same issue persists, we recommend contacting our Customer Care Team so they can gather more details about your experience and investigate to determine the root cause of the problem. Please see this page for further guidelines: Contact QuickBooks Self-Employed Support.

In addition, here's an article if you wish to learn more about automating mileage inside the program: Automatically track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

We value your time posting here and know we're always open to help you again if you need assistance managing mileage or have any additional questions related to QuickBooks. Have a good one.

Google location history cannot be imported

I can see how difficult it is to unable to import your Google location history in your QuickBooks Self Employed (QBSE), @dgscan.

To further verify the cause of this issue, I recommend reaching out to our Phone Support team. You can request a screen-sharing session so they can review your account and configure the settings to fix the import issue. Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Help menu and select Contact Us.
  2. Next, enter “talk to a human”, then click Continue.
  3. Then, select either Have us call you or Chat with us.

In the meantime, you can keep the file and manually add the lump sum to your mileage. For guidance, check this article: Manually track mileage in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

It's also easy to track your mileage logs, by running a report. You can also export it out of the program to share it with your account when you're preparing to file your taxes. For guidance, read this link: Export mileage info from QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Keep me posted if you have any other concerns about importing your Google trips. Please don't hesitate to leave a reply below. Have a good one.
