To ensure I fully understand the issue, are you saying that you enter the transactions, but it's not until you refresh the page that the math is correct? If this is the case, it sounds like you may have some issues with your browser's cache. Web browsers collect cache to save time when loading repetitive data and images. Over time these files become outdated and corrupted, causing issues like the one with your browser refresh. With that said, let's try some basic troubleshooting to clear the cache. I'm including the links for all supported browsers that contain the steps to clear the cache below.
After clearing the cache, please make sure to restart your browser so the changes can take effect.

@cal-seibert Don't let the response given fool you. It's not a browser issue. I have had the same thing going on. You can troubleshoot all you want, and it still does it. Daily!!
Until QB decides it is actually a problem, it won't change or be fixed. You can, however, expect them to break something else, though.

Agents have specialized tools, like the ability to share your screen, to take a more in depth look at what's causing the problem. They'll also be able to get this escalated for you if need be. Here's how to get in touch with the team:
1. Click the Help (?) button.
2. Select either tab to get started:
- Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
- Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
a. Start a chat with a support expert.
b. Get a callback from the next available expert.
