Thanks for reaching out here in the Community, info-islandlifee. Let's work together so you can adjust your account's opening balance accurately in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
If you have mistakenly entered a wrong opening balance after you connected your Credit Card account to QBO, we can edit it by following the steps below:
- Go to the Gear icon ⚙, then select Chart of accounts.
- Choose the account and click View register.
- Enter the "Opening balance equity" on the Filter by name or number. You can sort the date column to show the oldest entries first.
- Select the Opening balance equity. Then, modify the amount and also the date if needed.
- Once done, hit Edit to make your changes. Then, click Save.
However, if you can't find the Opening balance equity, it's possible that you didn't enter an opening balance when you connected your Credit Card account to QuickBooks. To fix this, you can follow Step 2 and Step 3 on this article to help you enter an opening balance seamlessly: What to do if you didn't enter an opening balance in QuickBooks Online.
Also, I'll add this article as your guide on reconciling your account so they always match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
