How do I download my checking and savings accounts past 90 days of transactions? I'm not finding any answers or a way to input manually.

I am trying to reconcile for my taxes and I didn't have quickbooks until just recently. I am unable to add the additional months, or I just don't know how.

You have to ask your bank or download the *.qbo file from their portal to import into your QBO account. Another option, utilize MT Online as a workaround. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.

Thanks for reaching out to us, hdesmarteaufast.

I'll make sure you can import the transactions from the past 90 days into QuickBooks Online.

QuickBooks downloads transactions up to a specific date when connecting your bank and credit card accounts. Some banks allow the software to download for the last 90 days, while others allow up to 24 months. Those older transactions can be downloaded as CSV files, which you can then manually import or upload into QuickBooks Online. I'll show you how.

Step 1: Get transactions from your bank.

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions on how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Every financial institution has different steps.
  3. Make sure the date range for the download is at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

Once you've successfully downloaded a CSV file, you can open it and check if it has the correct format before you upload it. Refer to this resource for more details: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

Step 2: Manually upload the transactions.

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Click the Link account ▼ dropdown, then Upload from file.
  4. Hit Browse, then select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then Next.
  5. In the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, choose the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then Next.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then Next.
  7. Select the transactions you would like to import. Then select Next.
  8. Hit Yes.
  9. When you're ready, select Let's go.

For your reference, you can review this article for a complete guide: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Once everything is QuickBooks, you can now start reviewing and categorizing them to ensure they are put on the correct account.
