How to add a Banking Tile?

Under "Bank Transactions" I have entries for automated feeds - my banks, credit card accounts...

I need to add a new credit card entry there, but I don't see how to do it.

I've created a Category for the new card, and the new CC provider pushes data to that account like I want, but i'd like to have a 'tile' for it like I do for my major Bank Accounts and Credit Cards, so that I can easily click on it and categorize any transactions that aren't already categorized by rules.

If I click the dropdown shown at the very top, and then scroll down and click on "Reoder Accounts", I can see the entry that I want to show up as a card... I can specify where in the sort that I want it..   It just doesn't show up as a card.

Ha sanyone done this and can share details on how I can do so?

How to add a Banking Tile?

Let's overcome this obstacle together so you can add a banking tile in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Darry.

First, you'll want to upload transactions manually into QBO. Doing so creates a place in your Chart of Accounts where they can be recorded.

Additionally, you have a choice of two different bank account layouts. Just click the dropdown icon in the top right corner of the screen to switch to the tile layout. This way, you'll see the additional bank tile where you can resort the list in accordance with your preferences.

If you don't have that option, let's troubleshoot your browser. In some cases, QBO behaves strangely when loaded with frequently viewed pages.

First, log in to your account using a private window. Refer to these keyboard shortcuts for easy access:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Once resolved, go back to your original browser to clear its cache or switch to a different compatible one. It may be a temporary issue with QBO or the window you're using.

We would also appreciate it if you could send us some screenshots so that we can better understand your concern.

Furthermore, in order to ensure that the transactions you've entered in QBO match your bank statements, it's best to reconcile your accounts every month.

How to add a Banking Tile?

That does not address my issue.

It would seem that Quickbooks Online's support staff may need some more training in how their own product works.

I've found out through experimentation that the only way to do this is to manually upload transactions via file, specifying "+ Add New" when prompted for which Quickbooks account to use for the bank file that you want to upload.

This will ALSO create an entry in the chart of accounts.  With what I'd tried before, creating a new account in the chart of accounts, that will not make it visible in the tiles on the Bank Transactions page.

I had to upload some fake transactions and then exclude them (since I don't want them impacting my reconciliation).

I now have an additional tile showing up in "Bank Transactions", and I can edit the sort order so it shows up where I want it to.

Now to see if the third party (Divvy) pushes transactions into the new account - If so, I've just solved my own issue, and have saved myself about an hour of work every week.

How to add a Banking Tile?

This worked a treat for us thank you after a couple of false starts.  We set the code for the new card up first in the Chart of Accounts, but couldn't makle the tile appear. So we loaded up some transactions manually and it popped up as if by magic.  The date format is a bit fickle, especially for us in the UK where we have it dd/mm/yyyy, but once we had that sorted, this all did seem to work well thank you
